Our classes are SAFE for everyone – we enforce a strict “no contact” rule for beginners and take special care to ensure we build proper skill and coordination as students move up in level.
But beyond the physical skills, we teach life skills. The true heart of martial arts is in the cultivation of the mind and spirit. For some people, this just means greater confidence and focus in their daily life. Others value the personal restraint to handle and de-escalate conflicts verbally without physical confrontation.
We specialize in working with students, both young and old, who have unique challenges; several doctors and social workers in Thunder Bay have sent students to our school to help them build a stronger mental and emotional foundation. However, know that martial arts isn’t a “magic bullet” that will solve everything overnight, but it can give any student the tools they need to become stronger, more present and engaged, and help them to be happier and more successful in their daily life.
